Mike Dupuy is a Master Falconer and Professional Public Speaker located in Central Pennsylvania.
Since childhood, Dupuy has been a student of the natural world, intriqued by its beautiful delicate balance and our place in it. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti (the birthplace of John James Audubon), Mike remembers being fascinated with the exotic birds he encountered each day.
Mike's family relocated to the United States when he was 6 years-old and once again he was fascinated with the birds he encountered. He pursued his fascination with nature while living in urban areas of New York and the Washington DC area.
At age 9 Mike read "My Side of the Mountain," by Jean Craighead George. The story of a boy and a falcon surviving on a mountain ignited Mike's passion for the art and sport of falconry and inspired him to pursue the 4,000 year-old sport. It was his discovery of his passion for falconry through reading that inspired Mike to encourate others to read and explore.
Mike scoured libraries to educate himself about falconry. By age 13 he developed a friendship with reknowned ornothologist Dr. Heinz Meng and had finally found a mentor.
Now Mike Dupuy is a licensed Master Falconer and professional public speaker. Mike passionately pursues falconry as a sport, a profession, and a metaphor for universal human aspirations.
With over 20 years experience as a public speaker and a reputation as one of the country's top falconry/bird of prey experts, Mike delivers motivational lectures that showcase his entertaining approach to learning. Mike invites his audiences to open up, ask questions, re-focus on their dreams and follow their own passions, whatever they may be.
Mike allows his audiences to "Get Up Close and Personal" with birds of prey, offering them an opportunity to experience raptors in a way that is impossible while observing them through binoculars.
Mike has traveled throughout the United States and abroad pursuing his passion for falconry, meeting fascinating people and capturing his adventures in photos and video.
